For those that don’t know me,
For those that do,
I’m more than Awesome.
For those that I know,
I don’t think that’s a coincidence -
that you know me and I know you.
Most likely we’re Awesome.
But don’t take this a sign of cockiness, rather a sign of confidence.
At my choice to be less than ignorant, and not so obedient.
I choose to know AND do.
I choose to break beliefs, before I break my body.
I choose to follow me, rather than follow you.
And my challenge to you is the same.
To do what’s better for you, regardless if I or THEY tell you too.
To find better though, I simply ask you be willing to question.
Question what you’ve been told.
Question what you’ve been telling yourself.
Question what may be better.
Question what may be worse.
Not for me because I’m different than you.
But for you because you’re different than me.
What is Better?
I don’t think there’s such a thing as stuck.
I think there’s really only two things you can do.
To maintain is to get worse.
To progress is to get better.
For those that haven’t seen me in awhile,
I am proof of better.
You may not see it physically – muscularly speaking.
Although that is getting better too.
But you can definitely see it behaviorly speaking.
Because I do things now,
That I didn’t do before.
And to judge me on before,
When there’s more of me that’s different
is judging me on what was
rather than what is…
something I was prone of doing myself.
Those I’ve trained in the past -
I train differently.
But wouldn’t you expect that?
Just like you expect each iteration of an IPhone to get better.
Why not expect a person to be that much better?
For each iteration of me you see, hear, touch, smell,
and for the lucky few taste…
You for damn sure will know I’m better.
Because Darryl 1.0,
Will annihalate Darryl 2.0.
And Darryl 2.0,
Will be decimated by Darryl 3.0.
And so on and so forth til my dying day.
Why Do I Do This?
I’ve been part of multiple training systems.
Systems of training that didnt work for me.
Including, but not limited to; Strength Training, Mobility Training, Flexibility Training,
I dare say that they were some of the best in the Personal Training world.
Systems of training that worked for everyone else, but me.
And what I started to personally find,
Was systems of training that worked for no one else, including me.
And as I continued my journey,
I went further away from the Mainstream crowd.
And closer towards the “Underground” crowd.
Because what I was doing wasn’t working.
And because what I started doing was.
The Mainstream broke my body, faster than it helped my body.
The Underground began fixing my body, faster than it broke my body.
But even what I knew then, still pales to what I know now.
Because at one point, I thought I had plateaued on the knowledge that was currently available.
I thought that fixing the body, and reaching whatever goals I could dream for myself, were two different things.
But guess what
They are one in the same.
And how fast I began fixing my body AND reaching my goals at the same time grew.
Not just for me,
But some of you too.
Those that know me and talk to me often.
Those that know me and train under me now.
My goal is to make what’s in the Underground, Mainstream.
And make what’s Mainstream, Underground.
Because the current affairs of the training world are broken.
And I, am telling you, my friends,
I don’t want you broken.
Releasing the Krakken
This may be an oddity at first.
To take away some of the things that seem like commandments of TO DO’s.
And change them to NOT TO DO’s.
But simply question them,
Not necessarily forsaking them,
And see if you may be able to get results without them
Because I have.
And my clients have to.
What I would add is that for each question,
If you answered YES,
I can guarantee you another way.
And quite possibly a better way.
A way designed on working you.
The way you are meant to be.

Do You Really Have to Sweat?
Do You Really Have to do Cardio?
Do You Really Have to Eat “Healthy?”
Do You Really Have to Feel the Burn?
For Those Trying to Gain Muscle
Are Bench Presses and Bicep Curls Really the Only Thing You Should Be Doing?
Do You Really Have to Feel A Muscle To Work A Muscle?
Is Their Really Only One Way To Build Muscle in the First Place?
For Those Trying to Improve Their Sports Performance
Do You Think Doing What Everybody Else Does Will Make Your Performance Go Up or Go Down?
Do You Think Doing What the PROs Do Will Make Your Performance Go Up?
Do You Think Working Hard Relates To Increased Performance?
For My “Trainer” Buddies
If we tend to value the individual, Why then do we have one exercise form, for every individual?
Why do we tend to work things symmetrically, when everything in their life is based on asymmetry?
Why do we make them do more work, rather than focusing on BETTER work?
My goal is to spread a virus.
One of the most lethal kind.
An idea virus, a meme,
That will spread through your unconscious and assimilate into your brain.
It won’t rob you of an idea.
Rather it’ll open up the doorway to something great.
To where the dreams of your yesteryear,
Become possibilities in your future years.
Because through the Movement.
I have not only become a Trainer who talks the talk AND walks the walk.
But a better person that will only keep getting better.
And I hope to help you reach your better too.
